Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
